We Started Because Kids Needed More

C.H.I.L.D. was started because the kids in Rantoul needed more. More support, more people in their corner, more chances to be seen. So Belinda Moffett got to work. That's still what we do.

Back to School Giveaway

Every August we hand out backpacks and school supplies to kids in the Rantoul area. No child should walk into the first day of school without what they need.

Talent Show

Kids in Rantoul have real talent. We give them a stage to prove it. Singers, dancers, spoken word. Everyone gets a shot to shine in front of their community.

Mentorship Program

Sometimes a kid just needs an adult who shows up consistently. Our mentors do exactly that: listening, guiding, and being present when it matters most.

Spring

Talent Show & Community Celebration

Young performers take the stage and the whole community comes out to cheer them on. It's one of the best nights of the year.

Youth Outreach & Engagement

School's out but we don't stop. Mentorship check-ins, community activities, and keeping kids connected all summer long.

Back to School Giveaway

Our biggest event of the year. Backpacks, supplies, and smiles, handed out right here in Rantoul before the first bell rings.

The holidays can be hard for some families. We make sure kids in our community feel remembered, cared for, and not alone.

Meet the Founder

Belinda Moffett

"I started C.H.I.L.D. because I love this community and I believe in these kids. Somebody had to show up, so I did."

Originally from Chicago, Belinda Moffett planted roots in Rantoul and saw a need in this town and did something about it. C.H.I.L.D. is personal to her. Built from the ground up with her own hands, her own heart, and the support of people who believe in the same thing she does: that every kid in this town deserves a real shot.

She's not running a program. She's raising a community.
